Impact of Computer in Society

Computer plays an important roles in humans life. Many products used in everyday life flow incorporate computer system. Following are the some common impact of computer in society.

1. Education :- Computers have become increasingly important in education not only as the field of study but also as a reference & teaching AIDS. Teachers are suing computers and administration use computer to develop application for time table generation, payroll processing, mark-sheet generation and admission selection processing.

2. Electronic banking :- The banking business has been revolutionized by computer technology. Deposits and withdrawn are instantly logged into computers. Account which may be stored on remote computer. The technology of electronic fund transfer supported by computer networking allow the user to transfer their amount from one place to another within a fraction of second. Similarly networking allows individual to obtained cash immediately and almost all over the world with the help of computer by using Automated Tellered Machine (ATM).

3. Science And technology :- Computers are now increasingly employed to improve scientific and technological advancement. They are being used to scan space and global weather forecasting. They are also used in the design and operation of man-made satellite, space exploration vehicle's and in training purpose.

4. Health & Care :- Computer have played a very important role in the growth and improvement of health care. It is used in hospital, in keeping records of patient, the symptoms of rare and common diseases and their corresponding medications, monitoring heartbeat pulse, blood pressure and other information related health and care. They are also used to monitored the available of bed's, location's of doctors and patient's in a large hospital and calculation of staff payroll and patient's medical fees.

5. Retail Shop :- Computer technology has a significant impact on retail store. Many of the shop's have replaced the old fashion cash registered with computer system. In a retail computer can be used to sales and purchase the goods by entering the item code through the keyboard or we can use a device into the computer called bar-code reader. With the help of computer the storekeeper can get the available stock just by clicking on the computer.

6. Telephone system :- In the early age of commercial telephone service operators have to make all connection and process the call. The telephone system now is just a multilevel computer network with a software switches in the network computers to route calls to the a destination. The main advantage is that calls get much more quickly and reliably they did in the port. The computer is also used for billing purpose in a telephone service provider.

Computer Animation and Artificial Intelligence :

Animation is one of the important tools of multimedia. It refers to moving text or graphics from one place to another. Animation on multimedia presentation is a series of images that are display in rapid succession, which gives illusion of movement animation makes the presentation live. Computer animation is created by projecting pictures one after another at a certain time.

Artificial intelligence can be define as branch of computer science concern with designing intelligence computer system that exhibits the characteristics associate with intelligence in human behavior.
The AI family includes: - (1) Robotics   (2) Machine Vision     (3) Neutral Language      (4) Export System    (5) Neuron Network

E-commerce refers to the process of buying or selling a product or service over and electronic network. The most popular medium in which E-commerce is conducted is the Internet. So, E-commerce can be defined as a process of selling or purchasing the goods for services through internet. Where demand can be created by the customer through th
e specific webpage of the supplier & payment can be made by using Credit Card, ATM Card etc.

Types of business: There are 3 types of business transaction includes in E-commerce.
They are (1) Business to Customer  (2) Business to Business  (3) Customer to Customer

1.) Business to Customer :- In this process, a business launch it's website and include all types of goods & materials available in his store. The Customer visit that website and get detail information of published product and create a demand in which he is interested. In this way B to C transaction is established. Example of B to C is : www.harilo.com

2.) Business to Business :-  A second and general form of E-commerce transaction involves the transaction between business to business. Example :- A multinational company launches it's websites with it's physical infrastructure on internet and allows a business to communicate for expanding it's branch.

3.) Customer to Customer :- Finally form of E-commerce that has become very popular over the last years involves C to C. Example:- A customer selects any greetings and sends it for another customer. Such as www.khattam.com

Application of E-commerce
On-line Marketing
Home- Shopping
Remote-Banking
Supply Chain Management

Benifits of E-Commerce
Quick Response
Improve Customer relationship

How Does Computer Work?

Before we try to explain the process in technical terms let us try and understand how a computer works in a Layman's terms.

Assuming a Professor is given a very difficult assignment to solve, for which he requires a Team of People with access to Library for referring Stored data and preset instruction/logic/ and formulae to draw analysis, solving many problems in sequence in the process to derive the final result of the given assignment, then in a layman's terms.

You the user gives an assignment (command) to the computer, the Professor (The Processor) directs the Team (RAM) to fetch information from the Library/Storage space (Hard Disk) using the help of the Librarian, "The Software". The information gathered by "The Team" (RAM) is then compiled using set of instructions (The Program) by The Professor (The Processor) and the final Output is given to the users. The co-ordinator between different people, i.e. the Professor (The Processor), The Team (RAM), Librarian (Software/Drivers), Library (The Hard Disk/Storage Space) is The Motherboard, which translate each's work without any problem. The whole stage is the Computer, where Monitor Screen shows the input and the output result, Keyboard and Mouse are instrumental in inputting requests only, the rest is done by the CPU, as explained here above.

Generally Speaking, once is an instruction is given to a computer via an input device such as keyboard, or mouse which is processed by the components of the computer such as processor, motherboard, hard disk, RAM, Software Program, etc and the result is shown via an output device such as a monitor or printer. More information on how it actually works is dealt with in the next post.

Learn About Basic Computer (Part 1)

A Computer is a machine that performs tasks, such as simple and complicated scientific calculations, electronic communication, and transactions under the set of instruction called a “program”. These days Computers are used to perform versatile activities with reliability, accuracy and speed.
Uses of Computer in different fields.
In Business, Computer track inventories with bar codes and scanners, billing of customers, and transfer funds electronically, track attendance and generate payroll, store records/data in extensive quantities with a never before easy.
At Homes, tiny embedded computers control the indoor temperature, operate home security systems, turn video cassette recorders on and off. Computer also Entertain as a music system, video player, Gaming zone etc.
Academicians and institutions use computers to track grades and prepare notes; with computer controlled projection units, they can add graphics, sound and animation to their lectures.
Computers are used extensively in Scientific Research to solve mathematical problems, display complicated data, or model systems that are too costly or impractical to build, such as testing the air flow around the next generation of space shuttles.
The Military employs computers in sophisticated communications to encode and unscramble messages, and keep to track of personnel and supplies.
In Daily lives, computers come in usage while booking train & airplane tickets, withdrawing cash from bank, driving cars, traffic lights, watching TV, listening Radio, although their usage cannot be seen or felt, but it completes the requested transaction in the backend.
2.      Characteristics of a Computer
The characteristics of Computer are high speed of operations, accuracy, reliability, flexibility and economy coupled with efficiency and processing data.
SPEED: The speed of a computer is virtually instantaneous. It is measured in terms of microseconds (1/10-6 second), nanoseconds (1/10-9 second) and Pico second (1/10-12 second). An average personal computer can conduct 100 million instructions per second.
STORAGE: One of the prime characteristics of a computer is its ability to store information which it can access very quickly.
ACCURACY: Computers are very accurate. They seldom make mistakes, though they do occasionally break down.
VERSALITY: For all practical purposes, computers can perform any task that can be reduced to a series of logical steps.
AUTOMATION: Once loaded with a program, No human intervention is required until the process is completed.
DELIGENCE: A computer can work endlessly, without suffering from the hman traits of tiredness, boredom and lack of concentration
